Dissolved organic compounds removal

Industrial water · surface and lake water · effluent polishing

Also called: DOC, colour and taste bodies, surface water organics

How it is removed

Liquid-phase adsorption of low molecular weight organics onto an extensively microporous carbon, with silver impregnation acting as a bacteriostat in the bed. Larger colour bodies and humic acids need mesopore and macropore volume that a coconut-shell carbon does not have — see why the feedstock decides that. Zeolite is used alongside where specific ionic species have to come out too.

Test against your own duty Capacity depends on inlet concentration, temperature, humidity, contact time and competing species. Nothing here is an assurance that a grade will perform in your service — it is a starting point for a trial. Trial batches run from 1 to 10 tonnes.
