Impregnated coconut-shell media for chemical filters, produced to a consistent specification batch to batch.
Particulate filtration stops at the particle. Airborne molecular contamination — acids, bases, condensables and dopants — passes straight through a HEPA filter, and in semiconductor and nanotechnology environments it is what damages yield.
Chemical filters use impregnated media selected against the specific molecular species present: acid-impregnated for bases, caustic-impregnated for acid gases, and virgin or specially treated carbon for condensable organics.
What matters most in this duty is consistency. A clean room chemical filter is qualified once and then re-ordered, so the media has to arrive the same every time. Every batch ships with a certificate of analysis against the qualified specification.
